Best used muscle cars
Every now and then when you’re at the lights or stuck in traffic, you can’t help but glance over and leer at the car next to you. If it’s not a supercar or classic that is leaving you in awe, it’ll probably be a good old-fashioned muscle car.
Best Price Car Sales have picked a few of the UK’s favourite used muscle cars to choose from, and not as expensive as you think. Take a look and see if any of our choices whet your appetite.
Mercedes AMG C 63 S
First on our list is the gorgeous Mercedes AMG C 63 S muscle car, which has been rated as having one of the best-sounding engine noises when being revved at the lights or even more thrilling to hear in a tunnel. AMG is classed as the performance sector of Mercedes, making this four-door saloon with its V8 turbocharged engine and rear-wheel drive a beast to have on the road, without much competition to match.
Vauxhall VXR8
Vauxhall has produced the VXR8 muscle car to match the Ford Mustang. But from the outside, the VXR8 is classified as a suped-up family saloon with added muscle add-ons. But make no mistake, with its V8 supercharged engine, this car can easily keep up with the likes of the Ford Mustang. The 0–62mph is slightly slower than the Ford’s but its top speed is its ace card.
Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 GT
Probably the granddaddy of all muscle cars, the Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 GT has probably been on every list of either classic muscle cars or used muscle cars to have on your wishlist. There’s no mistaking this beast at the lights or catching a quick glimpse as it effortlessly overtakes you on the motorway. If you want the ultimate-looking muscle car with a V8, 5.0-litre engine, look no further. Bear in mind that this car doesn’t come with a turbocharger, meaning you won’t be a match with the AMG from a standing start.
Audi RS6
You’re looking for a muscle car, but you have a family and want to combine them both, this we think will suffice. The Audi RS6 estate muscle car has it all. It’s practical, fast, and safe with its four-wheel drive, making it a lot easier to drive in most types of inclement weather. From the outside, it looks the part of a rough and ready muscle car, but also great to have for those school runs.
Nissan 370Z
This muscle car isn’t easy to find, but the Nissan 370Z is Japan’s answer to their renowned version of a muscle car. Apart from not having a V8 engine and a slower 0–62mph than all of the muscle cars we’ve listed, this V6 could easily be classed as a starter muscle car, for those looking to expand their horizons once they’ve mastered the still highly impressive muscle under the bonnet. Bear in mind that this isn’t your traditional muscle car but this baby can still shift.
